Tier 3 · Full Service Onboarding

The white-glove experience.

You've chosen our full-service tier — we handle everything from map creation to on-site GPS calibration. You provide the content and access; we deliver a polished, ready-to-go trail. This guide walks you through what to expect and what we need from you.

1 year Priority support included

What "full service" means

Unlike Tier 1 (where you do everything yourself) and Tier 2 (where you supply data and we configure), Tier 3 means we handle the entire creative and technical pipeline. Here's a quick comparison:

The project process — five phases

From kickoff to launch, here's what happens at each stage:

1

Kickoff call & scoping

~1 hour call

We meet (video call or in-person if Auckland-based) to discuss your trail, your audience, your aesthetic preferences, and your timeline. We walk through what's possible and confirm the scope.

  • You tell us about your organisation and trail
  • We confirm the map area and walking route
  • We agree on the visual style for the custom map illustration
  • We send you a content template to fill in (descriptions, photos, audio)
2

Map creation

5–7 days

We create a custom illustrated map of your trail area. The approach depends on where your trail is:

  • Auckland region: We source the base map (aerial photo or topographic) and create a custom illustrated version with your branding and aesthetic preferences.
  • NZ-wide: You provide the base map (aerial photo, existing map, or sketch). We illustrate and polish it for use in the app.
  • Style options: Photorealistic, illustrated, vintage, minimal — your choice. We'll show you 2–3 style samples before committing.

You review and approve the map before we move on.

3

GPS positioning work

Half-day to full day

We can come to your trail site if needed (Auckland region by default; elsewhere quoted separately) and walk the route with GPS equipment. We capture:

  • Exact GPS coordinates of every trail stop
  • Walking path waypoints (for accurate trail path drawing)
  • Locations of toilets, bins, and other utility markers
  • Map corner coordinates (for tile calibration)

This on-site visit ensures pin-perfect accuracy — no guessing from aerial photos.

⚠️
Easy Mapping

A lot of the time coordinates can be obtained from an online source such as Google Maps so we don't need to intrude on site.

4

Configuration & branding

3–5 days

At our studio, we configure the entire app using the data we've gathered:

  • Apply your logo, branding, and labels
  • Split the custom map into tiles
  • Set GPS bounds with field-verified accuracy
  • Place every pin with on-site coordinates
  • Draw the trail path with real walking waypoints
  • Link all images and audio files
  • Configure any layers, password protection, anti-copy settings
  • Generate a preview deployment on our test server
5

Review, revision & launch

2–4 days

We send you a password-protected preview link. You test on your phone, walk the trail, and send us feedback. Four revision rounds are included — we'll iterate until you're happy.

Once approved, we install the app on your hosting (we'll need temporary access, or we can do this together on a video call). The app goes live at your URL.

You receive:

  • The live URL
  • Your admin portal URL and password
  • A PDF copy of the A3 trail map printout
  • A handover video call walking you through the admin portal

What we need from you

Even though we're doing most of the work, we still need some things from you to make this successful:

Lets us know what your thinking - we will do our best to make it happen.

About the custom map illustration

One of the key differences between Tier 2 and Tier 3 is that we create a custom map for you, rather than using whatever map image you supply. Here's what that involves:

Style options

During the kickoff call, we'll discuss your preferred visual style. Common options include:

What's included

Source map options

For the base data we build the custom map from:

⚠️
Mapping Sources Outside Auckland

We document the actual sources and any licence-pass-through costs so you know what to expect. I just haven't made enough maps outside Auckland to provide more concrete direction here yet.

What you receive at handover

When the project is complete and your trail is live, you'll receive:

Ongoing support & updates

What's included in your 1-year priority support

After year 1

Your annual licence covers continued app updates and email support. Update installation is done yourself, the admin panel walks you through it (see the Tier 1 guide for the process).

Major changes / additions

If you want significant changes after launch — new layers, restructured trail, replacing the map image, adding live streaming — these are quoted separately at NZ$120/hour. Email us for a quote.

That's It!

Let's do this.

Want to upgrade to a Custom Build? If during our discussions it becomes clear you need custom features (multi-site, white-label, custom integrations), we can scope a Tier 4 project instead. The work done in Tier 3 scoping carries over.
